So I would like to clarify that for seven weeks I'll be uploading my page(once a week). This is actually for academic purposes and my supervisor is in charge of the topics that I write on, meaning that the different topics each week are actually on my supervisor's list.
As always, don't forget to read, comment and share. Thank you ❤
TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS.
Falling in love...everyone dreams of finding a Mr. Right or the perfect lady in which they will grow and nurture their love together. It doesn't matter where or when as long as both of your hearts "click" or get the electricity kind of a feeling whenever the two of you make body contacts as many of us believe that those are the signs of falling in loveπ❤.
We grew up with the notion that all campus relationships end with the perfect weddings, beautiful kids and later grow old together. We believed in the fairy tale fantasies that two people will meet along campus corridors, clash into one another, have books scattered all over the place, pick them up and then swoosh!!! They fall in love. Well no, It does not happen that Wayππ.
University students do fall in love, they get to be the center of attraction...everyone admires them...the matching outfits...the goals. Then there comes in the "kamati ya roho chafu" with their slogan, "wataachana tu!" The big question is the "wataachana tu" how does it happen? Do they break up in a civilised manner or does the break up ignite hate...vengeance...grief and so much pain?
Breaks up are painful...very painful...but does it mean that you have to kill somebody's son or daughter? Does it give us the right to disfigure someone's face with an acid? Does it justify the act of someone getting bullied? Someone getting crippled? No it doesn't. Recently university love scandals have been the talk of the town, we've heard of different institutions loosing their students due to love triangle cases whereby a lover kills his or her lover cause he or she either cheated or asked for a huge amount of money and then breaks off the relationship. Others get bullied simply because they either stared at someone's boyfriend or winked at someone else's girlfriend. It's actually hilarious on my part, but the fact that somebody either loses his or her life pains me.
Universities such as;
Mt. Kenya
Moi university
Kabianga &
Maseno- have been involved in cases where students end up dead due to love affairshttps://www.sde.co.ke/thenairobian/article/2000161027/deadly-campus-romance-tragic-stories-of-kenyan-university-students-who-kill-for-love
The link above will give you more details on how relationships in campus have gotten toxic.
We have other cases where couples break up in campus and later on a leaked sex tape goes viral leading to either of the two committing suicide. Sharing of the tape is not really a mature way to deal with break up.
It's does not only involve students but also prominent leaders in the society. The Obado and Msando crisis is still fresh in our heads we find that the two ladies involved were also campus students. https://www.sde.co.ke/article/2001297075/prominent-kenyans-caught-up-in-love-triangles
So my question is are we really ready for relationships? Are we sure that it's what we want? It's not about a question of who is dating the most eligible bachelor in town or the prettiest and fairest of them all. No! It's a question of love, loyalty, trust, dependency and most of all openness. Why should you cheat on someone? Why should you make them believe that you love them when in the real sense you only want to use them? Stay true to yourself and to your partner... If the love is no longer their just tell them so as to avoid such cases, and to you who is being let go, accept the break up...no need going violent.
Remember the students are children of a particular family, and no amount of compensation can amount for their loss.
So if you can't deal with relationships leave it...maybe you ain't grown enough to deal with it.
That was my take on the relationships...let's talk about this so that i can also get your views on this topicππ.

DeleteAnd those who truly love you will want you to be better. They will do what they can to help you thrive instead of tying their mental blocks to your ankle.
ReplyDeleteThe moment that you start to wonder if you deserve better, you do.
You speak as if you've gone through an ordeal that can't be spoken of...and that's what we all want...someone who makes you feel at home and not one who tries to make make love feel as if its a frustration
